SY) SCEJ Division Symposium

SY-79. [Symposium of Division of Safety] Promoting Voluntary Approach of Chemical Substances

Organizer(s): Shimada Yukiyasu (Nat. Inst. of Occupational Safety and Health), Tsunashima Hiroshi (JFE Engineering)

The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare has enacted laws and regulations regarding the voluntary approach of chemical substances. Workplaces that handle chemical substances are required to implement measures to prevent health hazards to workers and the occurrence of fires and explosions, taking into account the characteristics of the chemical substances. This symposium will provide a forum for the exchange of information by introducing examples of voluntary approach of chemical substances at universities, research institutes, and workplaces, to serve as a reference for future efforts.
