SY) SCEJ Division Symposium

SY-87. [Symposium of Division of Environment] Challenges and Prospects of Long-Duration Energy Storage Technologies

Organizer(s): Moriyama Ryo (Institute of Applied Energy), Kurosawa Atsushi (Institute of Applied Energy)

Long-duration energy storage (LDES) is gaining attention through mechanisms such as long-term decarbonized power auctions. This symposium will share insights on LDES deployment trends and recent case studies from both domestic and international perspectives. Discussions will focus on technical and regulatory challenges, as well as future prospects. By examining the role of LDES in achieving a decarbonized society, we aim to explore its contribution to building a sustainable energy system.
