The international symposium on gas hydrates, not only as an energy resource but also as a key material in some expected applications using gas hydrates (gas separation, storage and transportation, thermal storage, desalination, etc.) will be held. We invite Prof. Praveen Linga from National University of Singapore (2019 Winner of The SCEJ Award for Outstanding Asian Researcher and Engineer) and some academic and industrial researchers. We would like to inform you from various research fields and deepen discussion on the physical properties and applications of gas hydrates for building a sustainable society.Organizers SUGAHARA Takeshi (Osaka Univ.) The focus of this international symposium is on nanomaterials syntheses and energy-related applications. We invite Prof. Hsing-Yu Tuan, National Tsing Hua University, the winner of "The SCEJ Award for Outstanding Asian Research Award Winner 2019", and discuss recent progress on nanomaterials for secondary batteries, fuel cells, hydrogen production, solar cells, carbon dioxide capture, and other energy conversion/storage technologies. This symposium is closely related to the symposium "Recent Progress in Energy Conversion and Storage - Devices and Systems -".Organizers TAMAKI Takanori (Tokyo Inst. of Tech.) Organization Division of Energy Engineering
This is an international symposium for devices and systems of fuel cells and batteries and for energy storages and carriers. Prof. Amornchai Arpornwichanop from Chulalongkorn University in Thailand, who has been awarded "The SCEJ Award for Outstanding Asian Researcher and Engineer 2019", is invited to give a plenary lecture for this symposium. Furthermore, it is great to have excellent researchers who study this electrochemical energy systems, energy storages and carriers. We are sure this symposium will be a valuable occasion for various researchers in this research filed. This symposium is closely related to the symposium "Recent Progress in Energy Conversion and Storage - Nanomaterials Synthesis-".Organizers INOUE Gen (Kyoto Univ.) NISHIMURA Akira (Mie Univ.) Hydrogen is attracting attention as a new energy along with renewable energy. However, in order to realize a hydrogen society, we have to identify and address concerns regarding the safe use of hydrogen as well as cost and infrastructure development, securing a stable supply. This session will feature keynote lecture on attitude about hydrogen society and invited presentations the technical sessions will cover a wide range of global perspectives on the adoption of hydrogen.Organizer TSUJI Yoshiko (Univ. of Tokyo)
