SS-1. The Current Status and Challenges of Plastic Chemical Recycling - Towards the Realization of a Circular Economy Society -

Organizer(s): Sugiyama Yukiteru (Kao), Obo Tadashi (Ebara), Shibamoto Hiroko (Mitsui Chemicals)

To build a sustainable circular economy, we need resource-recycling plastic technologies that don't rely solely on incineration for thermal recycling. In Japan, various chemical and material recycling technologies are being developed ahead of other countries as alternatives to landfill and incineration. This session will cover domestic and international trends in creating a resource-recycling society through plastic chemical recycling, as well as the current status and challenges of efforts in Japan.
